Let’s take a few steps back to the mutable grand cross from yesterday. These grand crosses or grand squares are like a breaking point, and yesterday felt like we reach a pinnacle of tension when it comes to information and communication. The Virgo moon was in opposition to Neptune. We are feeling a strong pull toward training ourselves, purifying ourselves, conditioning ourselves. Virgo is about the individual discipline and conditioning that is meant to prepare us for the next step of shared experience. Finding the fulcrum in this relationship means having a direct experience of the Divine while at the same time personally conditioning and refining our individual selves to show up as our best self to the table. As if that’s not enough, the real challenge is how the moon’s nodes are in a square to both of these positions, bringing a karmic element to this whole process. The Gemini North node is the direction our collective soul is heading for our evolutionary growth, and right now it is pulling us toward an almost telepathic connection to something much deeper than the surface level information that we have access to. This the knowledge that is underneath our cultural or even personal mentality. Sagittarius as the South node has been a real challenge for us this year because it represents the truth of reality and our collective understanding for how it is all organized, something that is being reconfigured at lightning speed. Sagittarius represents understanding, and in this case an understanding that we are responsible for collectively moving toward a safer place if we want to survive. Although that sounds like exactly what we should be doing, the south node represents where we’ve BEEN. The thing about understanding is that it relies upon a collective belief system based on the analysis of information and knowing. If we are karmically heading toward new information, new ideas and the ability to work with the full spectrum of the dialectic without judgement, we have to let go of the alchemical process of the old ideas along with that. This has been especially difficult.

So this mutable grand square provided a breaking point. The good thing about mutability is that it allows for easier adaptation. The energy can shift and change easier than the cardinal or fixed signs. So, what we think we know and our personal analysis and refinement of that information can change easily, if only we allow ourselves the opportunity to do so. We have mastered the art of alchemy many times over, so we can use that as momentum for moving forward.

So where do we find ourselves today with this “breaking point?” Well, the Sun will be in a square to Mars (power struggles all DAY) and Venus, the goddess of love, enters Aquarius. With a moon also entering Libra, it appears that there is a lot of focus today on the balance of relationships and the shared experience. Aquarius can sometimes have this alien, almost detached, quality to it. However, Venus being the embodiment of sensitivity can very easily feel into the love and light that actually binds all of us together. She is the goddess on the Star card, simultaneously filling one vessel with starlight and emptying the other into the ground as nourishment. As above, so below.

A Libra moon, also giving us a personal focus toward balance in relationships, is going to have trines to Saturn and Jupiter in Aquarius today. The balance we may feel is going to be an internal one. Libra is cardinal air, so it does imply that we apply our knowledge to the process of balance, but this will be very supported by a firm structure of transpersonal responsibility and Jupiter finding inspiration in a moment of stillness. We take ourselves and our ego consciousness out of the equation just long enough to be inspired about how we can apply our knowledge to find balance.

The Sun’s square to Mars is where this will all be needed today. Mars represents our ego structure, the cardinal fire of Aries. Action, action, action. And there is some serious baggage that Mars is carrying around right now as a result of the desire for material things that inevitably develops in Taurus. The Sun is also at its detriment in Aquarius because it’s home territory is the opposite sign, Leo. This is not a powerful position for the Sun, yet the Aquarian energy is so incredibly strong right now that we can supplement that detriment with the other aspects, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn and asteroid Pallas (Goddess of Wisdom & Strategy) also in Aquarius. These other players can boost our ability to find individual fulfillment in the collective process. It may not ease the tension with this square, but we certainly will be able to better anticipate where we are headed with these power struggles around resources.
